About Marco Hartmann

Marco Hartmann is in charge of CIAAP’s project management. Joining projects in Indonesia, Ethiopia and East-Timor in 2003/2004 he gained first experiences in the field of development planning.

During his studies of agricultural sciences he regularly visited rural farmers on Palawan. This gave important insights in the needs and the way of living of the local people. Learning the filippino language enabled him to organize and technically supervise small- scale agricultural projects – above in the less developed south of the island. Long-standing contacts to the region of Cabayugan finally lead to the elaboration of a first concept for the development project CIAAP in 2003.

In total between the years 1996 and 2004 Marco Hartmann spent more than 2 years on Palawan. Since the beginning of this year he is coordinating the project activities on the spot.
