Project-Objective

The overall objective of CIAAP is the long-term improvement of rural livelihood in the project area. In this context, the following guiding principals and motives are established:

Direct intentions and objectives of the project:

(1) Sustainable income situation in the project area (project-involved farmers earn cash income)
(2) Integration of indigenous knowledge in planning and development-activities
(3) Knowledge-building and development of technical capabilities in underprivileged rural groups
(4) Inclusion of women into agricultural production
(5) Contribution to a stabilization and sustainable use of resources
(6) Environmentally sound production on the basis of ecological cycle systems
(7) Site-related production (use of local means of production)
(8) Support of regional economic circuits

 

The target group are farmers in the Project-Area of Cabayugan, who practice subsistence farming on a small scale (0.5 – 2 ha) and do not have additional sources of income. After finishing the phase of the Experimental Projects, the production system should be fairly well adjusted to the local conditions and the IAA System can be expanded to the region, starting for the time being with a small number within the target group.
